Why this Life is Strange Hater Liked Before the Storm

Life is Strange was one of the worst outings in choice-making game design in my opinion. Everything was abnormally subpar and hardly worth the time. So when the sequel-prequel to the series, Before the Storm was announced, I could not wait to start the hate train once again. Unfortunately for me, I ended up actually liking the first episode. Life is Strange is a recent contender for best story game for many players and critics. Hell, you'd be hard-pressed to find someone who dislikes it. Well, unfortunately for many fans, I'm one of those people who dislike it. Not only that, but I feel that it's one of the worst forays into the storytelling-focused game medium.
